Laser cleaning - innovation in the field of decoating and cleaning of surfaces
Based on innovative laser technology, we can offer you completely new solutions, for example in the area of mold cleaning (die casting or forming), paint stripping and decoating (e.g. for preparing weld seams or adhesive surfaces) and in the area of restoration.
How does the laser surface treatment and cleaning process work? The focused laser beams instantly remove any dirt or finish layers by vaporizing them as they hit the surface. The very powerful but extremely short laser pulses cause a very low thermal effect on the base material to be cleaned.
Because the base material (metal, tool, paint layer or carrier material) transmits or reflects the laser beam, the ablation process is stopped. Laser cleaning or the cleaning process with a laser is therefore gentle and damage-free and differs from abrasive processes such as sandblasting.
The laser technology and the cleaning process are based on a powerful, diode-pumped solid-state laser. The strengths of the process are particularly evident in the gentle decoating and cleaning of industrial components. Here, the power of the short-pulse laser light can be used to pretreat components for bonding and joining with low emissions and without damage, metallic components can be partially stripped of paint, tools and molds can be freed from process residues or oxide layers, and much more more.
The advantages of laser surface technology at a glance:
- Mobile cleaning laser
- No blasting or cleaning agents required (inexpensive and environmentally friendly)
- No dirt thanks to direct suction
- Gentle and residue-free cleaning
If you are involved in the cleaning of tools and machine components or any other surface, you should definitely learn about the laser cleaning process. We would be happy to provide you with more information about the advantages and possibilities of laser cleaning and cleaning and surface technology with lasers.
Application: mold cleaning / mold cleaning
- Low-emission and damage-free cleaning of molded parts and cavities
- Molds can be cleaned on the system / casting cell without leaving any residue
- The mold does not have to be dismantled, which saves set-up time and increases availability and capacity
- Moulds can be cleaned in "hot" condition, also possible in-line
- Complete removal of process residues such as piston grease, release agent residues, carbon, corrosion residues, sizing and condensate
- Positive influence on mold life, since abrasive sandblasting, heating and cooling processes are reduced
Application: stripping and decoating
- With the LASER, both partial and large areas can be stripped of paint
- High processing speeds can be achieved, especially with low layer thicknesses
- The carrier material is not damaged
- Applications for soldering or welding pre-treatment, removing corrosion and evaporation layers, creating ground contact points and areas
Application: restoration / surface restoration
- Laser beam cleaning technology is a gentle and efficient tool for restoration and facade cleaning
- The LASER can also be used to remove stubborn environmental dirt and weathering from stone and metal surfaces
- No abrasion from blast media
- No mechanical or chemical effects
- No moisture damage
